Boathouse IX was erected for the City of Cambridge Rowing Club and Homerton College and St Mary’s School Boat Clubs.
This modern boathouse has an unusual upright shape, which sets it apart from most of the other boathouses on the River. We particularly liked the navy blue of the building with the bright blue of the sky and the turquoise of the huge windows. Naomi decided to capture the inside of the boathouse, showing rowing boats old and new stacked up ship-shape to match the boathouse.
This is one of a series of images of the wonderfully eclectic and iconic series of boathouses that are found along the River Cam.
