Boathouse II is home to the Lady Margaret Boat Club of St John’s College and to the Robinson College Boat Club.
Sara found a peaceful moment at the boathouse as a crew was arriving for training. We both liked the image of the three closed doors and the one open one welcoming the crew in. Naomi was very keen to paint the idiosyncratic clay tiled roof, with its single chimneystack, ornate weather vane and gloriously over the top addition of the pole holding the St John’s College crest aloft.
This is one of a series of images of the wonderfully eclectic and iconic series of boathouses that are found along the River Cam.
